Miles Brenton’s songwriting is steeped in the roots music traditions of Southern Illinois. Blues, Rock, and Jazz traditions of neighboring St. Louis combined with the eclectic world-music palette of his dad’s CD collection led Miles to be open to all styles of music. Gospel, Choral music, and Opera challenged and expanded his vocal abilities, while Country music has remained his musical homebase. Now living in New York, Miles has continued to collect new influences, including traditional Irish music, Ranchera, and Chasidic nigunim, all of which are featured in his concerts and mix together to create performances that represent some of the beautiful sub-cultures that make up this country
